DETOXING

mixed up the Zen Detox. and let it sit for 24 hours ... it looked great !

my problem was with the application. I applied it to my hair DRY as it advised, and I had trouble getting it down to my scalp, it all seemed to stick to my hair. Perhaps I didn't make it with enough water, it was pretty thick. My hair is pretty thick too ... anyone have any suggestions or feedback that has used the ZD please let me know, I want to do a second application !

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

WHEN ONE has very thick hair its ok to wet the hair first before applying and also make the mixture alittle on the loose side vs too thick mixture.
This will make it very easy to massage into the hair and down into the scalp. Also making parts and applying the Zen into each section and then massaging it down into the roots.
So for you perhaps the wetter the better for a starter. Then sit in a nice hot tub and relax for a time and allow the Detox to penetrate into the hair shaft and right down into the scalp. one can me massaging the Detox while in the tub also for further penetrating results.
the longer the better from 15 to 45 minutes is good.

Re: DETOXING

Hi Anthony

I seem to get some sticky oily layer of build up on my scalp. I guess this is my scalp detoxing right? Also i seem to be shedding more hair in the shower process. Can you explain to me in detail on why shedding occurs during detoxing?
Will all these hairs being shed grow back?
Also how long does it really take for the more damaged and thinned hair to start becoming thicker?
How long does detoxing take at the most?
I was also thinking of doing detox once a week for 2 or 3 months to speed up the process. Would this be alright?

I love your products so far, and thank you for taking your time to answer my questions all the time. I love the zen detox especially as my dermatologist told me that folliculitis can only be helped to a certain extent with steroid/antibiotics and yet here i am using the zen detox that seems to really take away the pimples. I am very excited and cant wait to see how my hair is going to look and feel in the end.

Thank you,

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FIRST of all detoxing is quite individual.
for a very oily scalp one can use the MM detox weekly until one sees results. suggested time up to three months.
as for shedding hair.
this is due to alot of reasons. Mostly that the scalp is not strong or healthy enough for regrowth.
Suggestion: to do alot of very gentle scalp massaging and brushing see our educational literature on our website.
Damaged and thin hair:
The only real results one will get from split ends, damaged dry processed hair is to cut off the ends. YES cut off the ends for these split/damaged ends are never going to be healthy again and they are taking up alot of energy needed for the regrowth of your new hair.
Women will generally see a 100% regrowth back to your normal thickness and condition by staying with 100% Natural hair care products.
also cosmetics: try to stay with 100% all Natural skin care like
Dr. Hauschka which we highly recommend above all others.

sounds like your doing very good in spite of the doctors steroids/anti biotics. Better Natural processes and getting to the cause and taking care of what the problem comes from for Optimum Health Results.

Great Health and Hair

Re: DETOXING

I just started using Zen detox and have two questions :

1. Should I use it weekly for four weeks, and then start the seasonal application?

2. In the instructions, it says "When ready, wet your hands and massage deep inot the hair and scalp..."  Do I do this massage right after I have applied the Zen detox, or right before I wash out, or at some point midway?

Just want to get the most benefit!

I was just wondering the same thing :/

I'm enjoying the nice cool feeling on my head (it's been one hour since I finished applying).
It's the best my head has felt in the past 3 weeks since 'crisping' it with hair color! :-(

Time to go jump in the tub and work on getting it massaged out!
Thank you for this forum!

Re: DETOXING

Hello Anthony!

My hair grew 6.625 inches since the bad massacre of one year ago next week! I'm going to apply the ancient healing techniques of my Italian anscestors, make August 5 the official "Love Your Lovely Locks" day, and celebrate! It is becoming healthier than ever, thanks to MM!

I want to be doing detox right! The way I understand it, I'm wetting my hands and massaging my hair and scalp AFTER the 15-90 minute period. Is this correct? Or should this be done before the 15-90 minutes?

Mille Grazie, Antonio!

Re: DETOXING

Okay! I got the word from Sylvia at MM that hands should be wet and the detox loosened AFTER the 15 - 90 minute detox period :)

Re: DETOXING

This will be my second post regarding the same subject. I am absolutely freaking out! In the last 4 days I am losing between 500- 600 hairs a day, maybe even more. And  this is no lie! I just touch it and it falls out right from the root. I starting shedding  a bit more than usual after my first Zen Detox, and that's when  I emailed you the first time. So I continued to use the product. I did another one, still shedding, then I just finished my 3rd one last week. The next day is when I started losing MASS amounts of hair, like I have never seen before! Hundreds and hundreds of hair in my hand, on the floor, just falling right out of the root. So after crying for hours and praying to God that I dont lose all of my hair, I started searching other hair loss remedies. I really love your products because they are SOOOO natural, but I now have bald patches and a ponytail the size of a pencil. I just dont understand. As I emailed you the first time, I just took out everything in my life that was toxic. Cosmetics, cleaning procucts, laundry detergents, soaps, paper towels, toilet paper. I put water filters on all of my faucets, and  I sit in my infrared sauna for over an hour a day, and also use a chi machine. Is this normal?? How can this just be getting worse, and worse. I just ordered another hair loss remedy that is also all natural, out of desperation. It is affecting my whole life.  I dont want to date, or even go out of my house. I am so embarrassed of the hair  I dont have on my head.  I think your product   is great, the ingredients and everything. I just would like to know if anyone else is experiencing this mass amount of hair loss. I have read a few of the post's where some people have experienced shedding after. I would love some feedback, and maybe a glimmer of hope. I have had the thickest hair my whole life, up until about 2 years ago when I went off the birth control pill.  But this is the absolute worst it has ever been. I am sitting here in front of my computer looking at a big pile of hair in front of me with the hair follicle attached. I want to cry again. How can this be happening? Please if someone has experienced this, please let me know, so  I know if I am alone in this. Thank you , and God Bless!

Re: DETOXING

Hey Miakitty68,
My understanding of detox processes in general is often the situation gets worse before it gets better.  I used one round of the detox mask several months ago and loved is so much because I feel that it removed plugs from my scalp and hair follicles, similar to what you would see if you were getting a facial and they were doing extractions for the clogged pores.   I loved seeing the plugs come out, I ordered 3 more boxes.  Then I realized it is only recommended three weeks in a row, twice a year.

After many years of using horrible chemical products on my hair, I can only expect the recovery time to take a while, as hard as it may feel right now.  I just have to have hope because I have no other option.  I still believe natural is better than chemical.

There are several factors in hair loss from my understanding, and on top of it all, extra stress doesn't help.  Also, find a good hat that you feel good in.  I often feel badly about the hair loss and receding hair line, especially because I am in my late 20's.  If I were in my 50's or 60's, I wouldn't think twice about a hair piece, but not at my age!  I'd rather wear a hat!

I also recommend getting some tests run from your doctor.  I have had several tests for hormone levels and thyroid levels.  All appear fine on paper.  I try to eat well, and exercize and use natural cosmetics and such.    I must say, each time I apply the MM shampoos and other products I feel good about using them, and sending positive energy and thoughts to my hair can only help!  I also love the way the Volumizing mist and Dragon Gel make my hair healthy and shiny!  I have also heard in many places, that with hair it takes about a year to really see if a product is working or not.

I guess it is a journey, so keep us posted!

Re: DETOXING

Hi Miakitty68,
Do you have the oily, sticky feeling in your hair? I do.  I have detoxed 3 times. My hair is also falling out very bad and I have bald spots. I  had my shoulder length hair cut short today because I was having a terrible time trying to brush and massage the sticky mess. I think it is detoxing, due to the plastics that are put in most hair products we have used most of our life, until we went organic(for me, it has been almost a year). I am glad someone else is having the sme problem that I am.
Morrocco methods is highly recommended be some of the members of Sara Snow's forum on www.discoveryhealth.com
Keep me informed of your progress and I will let you know how I am doing.

Re: DETOXING

Miakitty68 I just wanted to let you know I had the same exact problem.  My hair would fall out in huge clumps that would clog the tub, and I have noticeably thinner hair.  Fortunatley I am starting to get the problem under control after stumbling onto some information and products.  It's funny how some things will come to you at just the right time.  I learned that insulin resistance can contribute to hair loss and because of the modern American diet almost every thing contains some type of highly refined sugar.  Overconsumption can lead to problems with the pancreas.  Anyways, what I'm getting to here is that there is a product called eleotin, a tea, that taken over three months helps heal this condition.  I saw a great improvement in my health after drinking this tea and a decrease in hair loss.  Another problem can be Candida yeast overgrowth, which if you have ever taken an antibiotic in your life you have a candida problem.  This can cause dandruff (I have this problem) and hormone imbalance (which it sounds like you have issues with this if birth control pills had an effect on your hair).  A good, strong candida cleanse will work wonders.  Lastly, I came across a great product which helps balance your hormones called female balance, which is made by Dr. Schultze.  Its an all natural and organic tincture made of herbs that help balance hormones in women.  I could literally run my hands through my hair and my hand would be covered with hair that had fallen out by the root.  After just one day of taking the tincture my hair loss had subsided considerably.  I would try the tincture first since it is a quick fix (at least it was for me) then look into the cleanses   .  I hope this helps, it has taken me months to start getting my hair loss problem in check, but I'm starting to see some great results not only with my hair but my health in general.  Good luck!

Re: DETOXING

I have two questions:

1. I am currently doing a 4-week cleanse--an intense one. Should I detox mt scalp at the same time or wait until I am through? Seems to me that I should detox all at once but thought I should check.

2. I bought the package with four shampoos. I understand the reasoning behind alternating, but wonder when. Finish one bottle then on to the next? Or alternate each time? Weekly?

From the time I was a teen I had had to wash my hair every day--then fight with the problems of drying. I've struggled with candida most of my life w/o realizing it was the problem. My scalp itched if I didn't wash daily and my hair looked so dirty if I didn't wash it daily. I started using your shampoo this week and after the first wash went 4 days w/o washing my hair! I am shocked and so very pleased. I haven't used the conditioner yet because I don't seem to need it.  Thank you!
