BLUNT SNIP CUT

The blunt snip cut information I have read so far on this site describes a method more than a shape. Is there any difference between a straight across, U, or V shape cut when it comes to fast, healthy growth as long as it is not layered?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Blunt Snip Cut when done properly one can do any style with it. At World renound Kenneth's Salon in New York City all hairdressers only did a Blunt Snip Cut. Only very short hair was layered.
as for shape.
Its alittle longer on the ends then the middle.
so the right and left sides are alittle longer then the middle (only alittle)
this way when one moves the head the hair still looks straight from right to left. Its one of the reasons it s always been Classic!
So its not straight across nor U nor and never a V.
its more like a inverted smile line but very subtle.

Ok, I understand but I'm not sure I can communicate it to a hairdresser to get the right results if I ever find a good hairdresser. So far I've had no luck in finding one I can trust.

Thanks!

Anthony,

Could you explain why the haircut has to be: a little longer on the ends than the middle? Is a U shape not favorable for healthy hair growth. I've heard opinions that U shape is good because that's how hair grows naturally. I ma not speaking about the looks but about the impact of the cut on hair growth. Could you explain how this works?

Thank you!

Hair is longer on each end so when one moves ones head it lifts the shoulders up slightly thus the hair is always straight.
As for haircutting and lunar haircutting the shape does not matter its the day of the month that is correct.
For a classic haircut the hair is cut 36 to 42 times in sections.
also the ends are left alittle longer like 1/4 " longer on each end as one blends the hair to the bottom line.
Hard to understand unless one knows how to cut a blunt snip cut or one has had ones hair cut that way.
but cutting on the date is all that is correct on the strengthening of the haircut itself. great health Anthony Morrocco

Re: BLUNT SNIP CUT

I have long slightly wavy hair with some split
ends at the bottom.  I'm not attached to
the length of my hair.  Would it benefit my
overall scalp/hair health to cut my hair short
as I begin the MM program?

Re: BLUNT SNIP CUT

Anthony,

I am living in the UK. I would like to find a hairdresser than cna cut my hair according to the cycles and in the correct manner to increase hair strength. What kind of questions should I be asking. ie. is the cutting technique known by any other names?

Re: BLUNT SNIP CUT

I am living in the UK too and my question also relates to the Lunar Cycle dates you have on this site. do they still apply to our time zone GMT (greenich mean time) ?

If they don't would you mind posting them for GMT time too? I'd be so grateful.

Thank you Anthony for being in touch with the spiritual, science and art and seeing that they relate. It is through holistic study that we find the true answers to this life. Really appreciate it.

Kindest Regards

Re: BLUNT SNIP CUT

Dear Anthony,
First of all, I just want to thank you for taking your time to answer all of our questions.  Excellent customer service!

I have a question about the blunt snip cut.  Actually, I understand what the classic cut is, but I need a little clarification.  Tomorrow I am getting my hair cut (right on the lunar schedule), and I would like for my ends to be cut blunt.  The problem is that my hair is currently layered all over and tapered around my face.  Do you have a suggestion for women who normally wear bangs.  Do you suggest they grow them out, or is it OK to taper them down around the face and just have the ends cut blunt?  My goal is healthier, thicker hair.  I would even like to grow it out a little if it didn't look so thin.  For a period of time, I wore my hair in the classic blunt cut (no bangs), but I wasn't sure it complimented the shape of my face.  Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance for your help (again)!
Sunshine
P.S. My products are scheduled to arrive tomorrow.  I can't wait to try them!

Re: BLUNT SNIP CUT

I'm a new member though, I've followed along the posts for about 4 months. I would like to hear a bit more about the blunt cut method. No hairdresser with whom I've spoken, has any idea. Well, one did but, what she described didn't sound quite right. Is the hair brought back in horozontal or vertical sections? Do you bring the hair straight back or is it parted and combed around the sides to the back? My hair is 27" from the hairline at the center of my forehead. It is a shade of red which is part natural and part organic henna which I have used for years. My hairs are mostly straight, and fine with about a 1" diam. ponytail. Have asked Santa for the entire MM line of hair care and am looking forward to using it.

Re: BLUNT SNIP CUT

Dear Anthony,
My hair is fine & thin--also I have much shorter hairs (about 2 inches long) in the area you see most men receding in. These hairs do not grow and I am afraid I will lose them. Although they have been like this for years, I feel it's just a matter of time now. I have been getting my shampoo at the health food store, but on your site it says they're not always what they seem to be. Yours professes to be the purest, safest & boosts growth. I am getting ready to place my first order. Also, if cutting on the lunar schedule will help, I definitely want to do it. How do I know what time of the month/moon that is? Is it according to my birthday (Sept 6) or the fullness of the moon or year of my birth? Please help me as I do not want to wear a wig. Thank you so much in advance for any advice/help you offer.

Re: BLUNT SNIP CUT

I asked my hairdresser if she knew how to do a blunt snip cut and she wasn't sure but thought she knew.  Is there anyway you can give exact instructions so that next time I go to get my hair trimmed I can get it done.  She trimmed it in blunt cuts this time and it seems fine, just want to make sure this is right.  Also, I am growing my hair down to the end of my back after dying it and ruining it, having to cut it all off and starting over.  It is just now to the end of my shoulder blades.  Do you have any tips for how often to trim etc.  Thank you, Krista

Re: BLUNT SNIP CUT

Anthony,

What is the best kind of shears I can but for the blunt-snip cut (size, brand....)? I am willing to pay for a pair of good shears ~$200.
I would like to start cutting my own hair (now shoulder length) every month according to your lunar chart. I have been using all your products for over a year now. My hair is more healthy then ever before. Thank you for your outstanding products. They truly make a difference.

Re: BLUNT SNIP CUT

Why is the bunt cut so important?  My hair is so very thin and baby-fine, the only cut that seems to look decent is the "choppy" razor cut.  Is this bad for my hair?

Re: BLUNT SNIP CUT

I would like to know also why the Blunt snip cut is so important? Does it make the hair grow faster, healthier, more manageable??? Or it is just for a better look?

Also @ A.M. how would I blunt cut my natural afro kinky textured, hair this way, without straightening it? The way that I trim (or dust) my hair now is...take a small section of hair, detangle it with wide tooth comb then fine tooth, and I glide my hand down the shaft of my hair until it no longer feels smooth and i snip it off at that point. Then I divide that small piece of hair in two parts and put a two strand twist in my hair until my hold head is finished. I end up with about 100+ twist in my hair. I will admit that I am afraid to cut a mass amount of hair at once.

Re: BLUNT SNIP CUT

I've been too scared to go to a hairdresser. . .and so have been trimming my own hair. My hair is a little longer than tailbone length, thick, coarse and wurly wavy.

I use this technique that's very popular with all the long-hairs at the Long hair Community Form:
Feye's Self Trim: http://community.livejournal.com/feyeselftrim/

I am wondering if you have any thoughts on how I, and my long-haired friends, might improve on Feye's technique to get your recommended blunt snip cut?

Thank you!
Gwen
